CliniClowns

Climbing for CliniClowns has ended. With 2 expeditions we collected 1.022 euro for CliniClowns! On behalf of CliniClowns we want to thank all participants for their contributions and of course we also thank everybody for supporting the expeditions of Ice-X! View the donor page for an overview of all donors.

to the cliniclowns website The reason why we started 'Climbing for CliniClowns', is that we wanted to achieve more with our climbing expeditions but a beautiful personal experience. In this way we wanted to give the expedition an extra value and so we started to gather money for CliniClowns with expeditions to Peak Lenin and Kilimanjaro. We think this fund is our exertion worth!

Climbing at extreme height is a matter of pure survival. There are objective dangers like the weather or avalanches, but there are also subjective dangers like your emotional or physical fight with the mountain. In spite of the dangers we try to focus our minds on the spectacular surroundings and climbing experience because here we feel at home. The symbolic link we see is that children who are able to laugh together with the CliniClowns also feel home in spite of their difficult situation.

Route for sale!

With the expeditions to Peak Lenin (August 2002) and Kilimanjaro (November 2002) we gathered money for CliniClowns by selling the meters of our climbingroute (in height). Every-one could buy one meter for 2 euro, of which 1 euro was for CliniClowns. All donors are listed on the donor page.

Sportevent

The Royal Dutch Climbing and Mountaineering Association NKBV marked our Peak Lenin Expedition 2002 as mountainsportevent. This gives an impression of the quality and forms a recommendation for sponsors and media.

Justification

Climbing for CliniClowns is a project by the Ice-X Foundation under the media auspices of the Royal Dutch Climbing and Mountaineering Association NKBV. CliniClowns Nederland has given her approval for this project, but is in no way responsible for the execution of the expedition or the project.
