First day with snow! Biked to Katwijk this afternoon. Started out sunny. When I reached the dunes in Scheveningen the sky was getting darker.
Road was covered with ice. Hard to bike uphill. Going down was madness. Halfway there was a yellow band. Visibility almost zero. Turned out to be a road. Semi almost killed me. Second part was much better, lotta snow, good grip. Wind still strong. Crossed a large plateau. What the… oxygen bottles? Steep ridge was next. Frightening precipices on both sides. Slow progress. Never ending road. Time stood still. Legs are numb. Then finally… the summit! The magical highest top of South Holland, the Vlaggenduin, at 37 meters above sea level! Good times.
